Bio

Courtney Mroch is a wife, a proud pet parent, and a writer. She's been with her husband, high school sweetheart Wayne Pryor, over 20 years, married 11 of those. She's "mom" to Mr. Meow, a.k.a. Kitty, an 8-year-old (approximately, he's an adopted stray) Nebelung cat; Murphy, a 5-year-old (near as she can tell, he was a pound hound) blue tick/hound mix; and their newest addition, Tabby, age and breed unknown, but judging from her kittenish demeanor she's about a year old. "Team Pryor" as they call themselves relocated from Jacksonville, FL to Nashville, TN in 2005.

Courtney graduated from the University of Arizona in 1992 with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications. It wasn't until 1999, though, that she answered her childhood calling and ventured into the writing arena. Since then, in addition to her books, Beneath the Morvan Moon (PublishAmerica, 2004) and Cellfish Ways (Echelon Press, 2004), Courtney has published nearly one dozen articles and two dozen short stories. She's also enjoyed many honors and distinctions thus far in her writing career: 17 times she's won first, second, third, honorable mention, or finalist placement in contests; Cellfish Ways was Echelon Press's #2 best selling dollar download for 2004; and in 2005 Florida Monthly Magazine featured her as one of their 21 Intriguing Floridians because of her commitment to donating a percentage of her royalties to the Red Cross. (A decision inspired by her experiences during Florida's active 2004 hurricane season.)

When she's not writing, Courtney keeps busy tending to her team. Murphy needs to be walked several times a day, the cats' mischief must be monitored and maintained, there are dinners to fix, and chores and errands never end. However, she usually has at least one volunteer (Murphy, Kitty, or Tabby) helping out, making what would be otherwise mundane completely enjoyable!
