I am a birth & postpartum doula in Asheville, NC and I also do Placenta Printing and Encapsulations. I am curious how many of you have heard about Placenta Encapsulations and are planning to do one? In Asheville, I am very busy doing them, as alternative medicine is very popular in our area, but would love to get some insight as to the rest of the US.

Harley11Several of my friends have dried & ground their placentas; all have positive things to say, especially in regards to balancing out their hormones. I buried mine & I had to let my midwife know I wanted it ahead of time & bring a container for it. I never heard anyone comment on feces concerns. You will most likely want to the cord off & membrane, so you could wash it off then. Have you used Nux Vomica for constipation? Very effective. Good luck.
