The other parents having to 'check' my mom out. Some evening having the nerve to ask me, "Why isnt your mom married?" "Where's your dad?". I remember one day in 5th grade one of my friends mothers had told her that she couldn't come over my house because we were and 'uncatholic' family. I asked her how her mother knew our religion wasn't catholic, and she went on to say "catholic parents don't divorce." That is a day i think i'll never forget. Recently, I've opted to take care of my brothers oldest child, while he's is getting his life together. She loves to use the excuse "Thats the adults job, not mine." Oh, how it makes me want to tell her how it is. I think that the more responsibilty the child has the more responsibilty he/she will have/take on in their home when they get older. It's a great place to raise kids, you should subscribe to the nashville parenting magazine, its awesome. It show you good things to do with the kids, most of them are free, and so is the magazine.
