Talk about a visionary! Henry Ford started the Ford Motor Company over 100 years ago, but even back then; his main object was to build cars that were sensibly priced, yet dependable and efficient. Yet over the years, it seems as if cars have become less reliable and less affordable. Not to mention the price of gas jumping in the past decade. Director John Hughes Dies at 59

Director/writer John Hughes never won an Oscar. In fact, he never came close – he was never nominated for an Oscar. Or, a Golden Globe for that matter. Or much of anything. The only award I could find on the Internet Movie Database was the ShoWest Producer of the Year award in 1991. But, throw out some quotes like “Bueller? Bueller? Steve Martin Makes History and Sarah Palin Goes for Broke

There is just something about Steve Martin that makes me melt… like chocolate on a hot sidewalk. He is one of my favorite actors, and I am now counting down the days until he makes history on NBC. The 30th Annual Kennedy Center Honors

It is that time again – time for the Kennedy Center to honor those that have made significant contributions to the American culture. Last year, the Center honored movie director Steven Spielberg, singer/songwriter/actress Dolly Parton, singer Smokey Robinson, composer Andrew Lloyd Webber, and conductor Zubin Mehta.
