I've never written the novel that takes off and is opted for publication, however. It turned out to be a really great first season for a show. It's like watching a novel for television. In style of storytelling, it reminds me of Babylon 5 -- but the delivery is a cross between Phillip Marlowe mysteries and a somewhat more modern Trixie Belden.

They always say things like: "write what?" or "You can get paid for that?" I know that most of the time they don't mean to be insulting, but then again -- it feels that way.
