A Frugal Decoration: Candy Corn Candle Holder

16 Oct 2006 05:22 PM

How cute! I have not seen this craft before and here you've done it for several years. The best part is that the kids can do this as well as the parents. Thanks for sharing it.

How To NOT Gain Weight During The Holidays

All key points for the upcoming season.

One more I would add: drink plenty of water.

Paradise On A Roll

Thank you for the personal update on family members. I'm glad to hear they are ok. The good thing is that people, while they may be uncomfortable, are safe and healthy.

Your Baby's First Hours of Life

15 Oct 2006 07:50 AM

Great run down of what to expect what baby is born.

The afterbirth is also expelled from the mother's uterus.

Time of birth, date of birth, and all those other facts are documented. Just to add that baby's height and weight are recorded at this time. A footband is added to baby for identification so that Mom and Baby both are identified together.

Many hospitals also add another ankle bracelet for baby that is an emergency alarm, should baby be taken off the maternal-child unit. This is a safety alarm.

Frugal, Yet Festive Trick or Treat Bags

14 Oct 2006 09:07 PM

Planning for trick or treating is so much fun! Your tips on carrying a pillowcase or a bucket are so true. A flimsy grocery bag will quickly break all over the sidewalk. That's no fun. Thanks for your tips!

Picking Pumpkins At A Pumpkin Patch

14 Oct 2006 09:05 PM

We were at the pumpkin patch last weekend and it was beautiful! We had fresh homemade apple pie alamode (we brought our own ice cream). What happy memories. Taking photos is a must.

Out of the Box Halloween Costumes

14 Oct 2006 09:02 PM

Great costume tips and the best part is that they are not costly. They won't break the bank, and your kids will just love showing them off.

Great to have an author interview right here on Fam.com! Very interesting. Will look forward to the next segment tomorrow.

Frugal Candy Ideas for Halloween

14 Oct 2006 08:56 PM

Great tips, Nicole! McD's also has 12 coupons for $1.00 for Trick or Treat. Never make homemade goodies to get out to treaters coming to your door. It just is a safety issue these days. None candy items, like those small party toys from the Dollar Store are a great idea. I'm passing out WWJD bracelets and little keychains with crosses. Thanks for sharing, Nicole!

How's My Teen's Driving?

14 Oct 2006 08:53 PM

Another key point is to have other parents keep on eye on your teenaged driver and report back if there is any concern. "It takes a village to raise a child." My boys also know that grades impact the cost of insurance, so good grades were a must before that driver's license was even considered. Knock on wood, let's keep our teens safe while driving.
