When they choose to change from being singers to political activists and speak poorly of the President of the United States, while on foreign soil during one of their concerts, the political area stands out more than the singing. I have heard about that apology on the web site and since then, they retracted that apology. I formerly enjoyed their singing and music. When they became poltical, I stopped listening to their music or buying any of their tunes. They made their choices and I have made mine. Apparently many others feel the same way that I do and the Dixie Chicks have financially suffered for this. So many special details that I wanted my family and friends to share our joy of our special day. We wanted a religious ceremony because that is just who we are. I also needed to get onto my DH's health insurance, hence the need to make it legal as well as religious. Yes, people can go down to the courthouse, get married by a judge, and have it done in 5 minutes. That's legalese at its simplicity. DH and I wanted a special day to involve our religious preferences as well as our family and friends. For us it is still a special day, 25 years later.
