Homecoming Weekend 2006 Part IIII ~The Untold Twists

Sunday AM another homecoming is done and over. So much anticipation, so much fun. There were a couple more interesting tidbits that I wanted to share. Those sweet cheerleaders have a lot of enthusiasm and do special things for the football players.  Next door neighbor, Tina, always has a fall weiner roast.  It happened to fall on last Sunday night.

Homecoming Weekend 2006 Part III

Here it is the high school homecoming weekend and we've talked about Friday night with the parade, pep rally, and bombfire.  It was a wonderful parade and a lot of fun. Today was a chilly, sunny day, with a sharp, cutting wind.  I picked up DS#2's senior portrait proofs at the photographer's.  Can't believe how grown-up and mature he looks.

Homecoming Weekend 2006 Part II

If you happened to read Part I, you can recall all the wonderful festivities related to Friday night and the homecoming parade, pep rally, and bombfire. Thought I'd add some more descriptive details. DS#2 and his football friends had been hauling wood for the bombfire for 3 - 4 weekends in preparation.

Homecoming Weekend 2006 Part I

It is a beautiful fall weekend - the sun is shining; trees are turning shades of yellow, orange, and red; mums are in full bloom in the yard in colors of orange, purple, yellow; and there is a definite chill in the air.  Yes, it is Homecoming weekend at high school. This is the 7th year in a row, and is our last, that we have a child in high school and going to homecoming.

Church Lady ~ The True Story

I was in charge of a huge luncheon for the church ladies and the speaker was the national church womens president. Very impressive. I went over the checklist in great detail so that everything would be just perfect. Speakers table looked lovely - check. All the banquet tables were properly set with floral centerpieces in copper pots - check. Food was smelling delicious - check.

Meals on Wheels Adventure

There was one older church lady, "Marie," that would just drive me crazy during Bible studies....she'd talk nonstop and repeat things two or three times. She had a good heart, but I could not seem to see past her annoying habits. Oh, I was nice to her and spoke with her, but she was like fingers on a chalkboard.

7/6/06 Thursday. Purple Truck. Bow Flex.

Hi! Just got home from work and walked in the door.  DH and I drove home from work and picked up the purple truck, from the auto repair shop.  $2xx.xx charge for some brake and tire repair.  Arrived right on schedule so that DS#2, football player, could take the purple truck over to weight lifting at the local h.s.
