God does provide wonderful blessings, doesn't he? That is so neat that they prayed for minority students and that you were their answered prayer! That makes me feel good inside!

Abusive Foster Homes - Blog Entry

We live near Dallas, and I have been following these two stories quite a bit. They horrify me, and they scare me. How many more kids have to die before something is done? These poor kids have been through enough!!!!!! I understand there are false accusations out there, I just wish there was some way of knowing the truth between the false accusations and abuse.

CHIP, Many Children's Only Health Coverage Option - Blog Entry

13 Jan 2007 09:55 PM

My kids were on CHIP and were part of the cut-backs in 2003. My Husband and I both work, but the cost of health insurance for us is OUTRAGEOUS. I was paying $384 a month just for me at one time (i had some health problems a few years back). I am very frustrated that I work, I pay taxes, I was born in this country and yet my kids don't have health coverage. When they go to the doctor (or break an arm the day after Christmas-as my youngest one did) we have to pay for it out of pocket. I wish the government would do something about the HUGE amount of people in our country that don't have any kind of health coverage.

Sorry, I got on my soap box, didn't I????? It is a very sore subject for me. :-(

Art, you crack me up! I am envisioning you hanging out with the gangsta' hat to the side! Good for you for not letting your boys dress like hood rats! My boys wear uniforms to school, I TOTALLY LOVE that they have to.... they will have to dress like that in a few years when they hit the job market, so why not do it now? They HATE the uniforms. Imagine that!

Funny Boy Stories - Blog Entry

Precious stories! I love 'em! The most recent funny story is of my oldest son. We have been talking to them about the adoption quite a bit, keeping them involved. They knew we were waiting on our fbi background check, they knew we were having to do a home study, where they came in and checked over our house. Well my 14 year old had it in his mind that the FBI came in and did a swat type sweep/raid of our house.

When my youngest was 7 or 8 I took a "girls" trip to San Francisco. I called them while I was there and he wanted to know how San FranFrisco was. We still call it San FranFrisco to this day.

When my oldest was 3, the song "I believe I can fly" was popular. He loved that song and one day while playing on the swingset, singing that song, he tried to fly by jumping off the slide. Needless to say, a broken elbow later, he learned that day that he COULDN'T fly.

A kids mind is precious. The way they think, the things they say, the way they interpret things.... Absolutely precious!
