art, that is so nice to hear. we parent our two boys the same way and sometimes i wonder if we ask too much of them. then i think back to when i was a kid, i was washing and drying all my clothes at the age of 9, mowed the lawn, took out the trash, cooked, cleaned and took care of my brother while my mom was at work. but to hear from someone else the responsibility we are teaching our boys, that really helps. thank you!

and i love that randy gave you the third degree about the dryer warranty! that is precious!!!!!

linda, thanks for sharing your experience here. i learned a lot as to WHY they hoard, and also learned to not "make things my way", to work with the child and let them do it in their own time. i think that is a very important lesson in overcoming the hoarding, is to let them decide what goes and when. great job!!!!!! i'm so glad you started blogging, i learn so much from you!

There needs to be a ton more investigators hired and a ton more punishment to those that do this to these kids. Unfortunately, this is getting worse and worse and something/someone has to stop it!!!! It just enfuriates me to see this happening over and over again. These children are our future, they deserve so much more than this!!!!!

ADHD and Medication: Finding the Right Dose - Blog Entry

great article! getting the dosage right is so hard and so frustrating to parents-especially if you have one parent that agrees with the adhd/medication theory and one that does not. it is truly a "trial and error" type thing, which can be very difficult to deal with. and each child is truly different.... my oldest was on adderall for a while, he did great until one day he got in trouble at school. he ended up trying to turn over the principal's desk, tried to knock her computer off the desk, banging his head on a concrete wall-all of this out of a child that HAD NEVER shown a violent outburst in all his life (and never has since), and this was in kindergarten!!!!!
