A few extra tips: There is an additive you can add to your gas tank called, Heat, it takes out all the excess water making it easier on your car to start and prevents gas line freezes. You should also always fill your tank up once you are down to 1/2 a tank. That way you have plenty of gas if you would get stranded.

And don't park in a large puddle if the temperature is supposed to drop. I did that once and my car was frozen to the ground for several days :(

My aunt has her BSN and works at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas. She is a transplant nurse. I believe she is currently an "on call" nurse to assist in the actual transplants. She loves her job but it can be really hard on her emotionally. Here is a video and she is the nurse in it. It is from a few of years ago.

My daughters name sounds like she has four names, but she only has three. We combined the first two into Ellamae. We didn't want people to call her Ella b/c we like Ellamae, but when she is older if she so chooses we will call her Ella.

I have had a two year old ask me what I was doing. I told him I was feeding the baby, he said "oh" and walked away. It didn't bother him at all.

I think by hiding breastfeeding from kids we are helping them to learn it is unnatural or wrong.

I have found with Ellamae I need to find a very quiet relaxed place or she won't nurse. Even at home if the cat or daddy walk by she has forgotten what she was doing and wants to go play. I would never be able to feed her is a public restroom b/c she is terrified of the toilet flushing noise, I have to change her diaper in the car.

Were not doing anything extravagant, but I try not to downplay things either. Even though she won't remember these first years of her life she is defiantly learning from them. Everything is new and exciting for her. Of course I don't have to buy her fancy gifts (grandma is doing that!) she will be happy with all the attention from family. She is going to love Christmas and I can't wait!

I would love to downsize too....if I could sell my house. Other than our house there isn't much to downsize on. We have one car & no cell phones. We do have cable, phone, & internet. But all three together is less than 90$ If needed we can go to just phone and get rid of cable & internet. If only we could sell our house. It would be nice to have a smaller newer house with less maintenance and LOWER utility bills!!! And less to clean :) Our house is just too old and I'm afraid it is going to become a money pit.

Too much water can be deadly too :)

I think she was using two scoops when she should have been using five scoops of formula, which is stretching it more than 10 cans to 15 cans. Things still sound a little off to me. And what was she shopping for when her baby curled up and stopped breathing?

State College Costs Unaffordable - Blog Entry

The cost of college is the main reason my dh and I may or may not have more children. I would love to have a house full of children. Another major factor is the cost of healthcare. We started a college savings plan for Ellamae. We could put a whole lot more away for her if we didn't have our own student loans to pay for. I am a first generation college graduate and my mom was totally unprepared for me to go to college. And I (mom included) was unknowledgeable about what was out there for help. I hope that we can help Ellamae financially and find her help beyond what we can pay for.

What I have found out about myself is that stuff I used to want no longer appeals to me. I don't find "happiness" in material things that I used to. I would get more enjoyment out of letting Ellamae eating that last "piece of pie" than if I ate it. Not that I don't like pie, I just could eat something else.

We also sacrifice things like regular showers, doing our hair, personal time. Some days I have no idea if I even brushed my teeth or not. And sleep, what is that :)
