The Family Christmas Photo - Blog Entry

We have about 6 different styles of photo cards that I like and can't decide which one to go with. The one I really wanted was a 5*7 folded card that you could have up to 6 photos but it is too expensive for us this year. We are going with a 4*8 photo card. Now if I could only choose one! I also made photo books for Ellamae's grandparents and flip books for her great grandparents. I am going to get a few of the 5*7 folded cards for Ellamae's aunts and uncles. She is the first grandchild and spoiled rotten!

Guide to the Rotavirus Vaccine - Blog Entry

I am the parent that believes wholeheartedly in the power of vaccinations. But my doctor doesn't give the rotavirus vaccine unless you specifically want it. They had issues in the past and he still doesn't feel safe giving it yet, he is waiting for more research. So Ellamae wasn't vaccinated for it.

24 Nov 2008 07:51 AM

We spent less than 50$ on Ellamae and we really didn't need to get her anything. She is the only grandchild and is being spoiled rotten by the grandparents and by great aunts! We got her Mega Blocks. the sitter has some and she loves to play with them. I can't wait to give them to her!!!! Now I have to come up with a birthday gift idea.

Where Were His Parents? - Blog Entry

If you have a heart attack in a busy mall you are less likely to get help than if you where at a place with less people. Basically the more people the less help you will get. Sad isn't it.

Where Were His Parents? - Blog Entry

We studied this group behavior in college. People loose there sense of self and just become a part of the group. It is almost unbelievable that NO ONE does anything to help. And lots of times if someone feels like they should do anything they think someone else already has. This is why in emergency situations you are taught to point at a specific person and tell them exactly what to do, b/c if you just shout for someone to call 911 likely everyone will think someone else will do it.

As for no one check in on him for 12 hours, I can see it happening. When I was in high school I used to work late or be out late and sleep all day (on the weekends) I don't ever remember my mom checking up on me. She rarely came to my room. I think it would all depend on the kid and their routine, I think if I would have done anything out of the ordinary my mom probably would have checked up on me.

Baby Goes Missing Under the Floorboards - Blog Entry

She probably did at first but was either ignored or the dad slept though it. After awhile she probably got too tired and just stopped. And sometimes the body does weird things to conserve energy and stay alive.

The Best Prices on Disposable Diapers Today - Blog Entry

I prefer the Parents Choice brand from Walmart. They have been great so far. I have heard some people have issues with leaking. I used Pampers Swaddlers at first (loved the smell) but I had an issue with poop explosions! I have heard for store brands Target, Sam's Club, and Costco are good as well.

Does Your Child Have a Cellphone? - Blog Entry

06 Nov 2008 07:25 AM

My daughter is too young yet. But my dh and I don't have cell phones. My dh says absolutely not, she will not need a cell phone. I will wait and see. I think we can get by without one. The only downside of all the cell phone use is I have a very very hard to find a pay phone when I need one. You can always teach a kid where to go if the get lost in a crowd or store. At the mall you used to be able to use a pay phone (I always carried a phone card). And my mom always said a collect call was better than no call at all. At school I always went to the principles office if I need to call my mom.
