Caffeine Linked to Underweight Babies - Blog Entry

06 Nov 2008 07:18 AM

I skipped the coffee and soda. But chocolate was my weakness. I did occasionally have caffeinated soda. My baby was 8lbs 10oz. My thoughts on the study, would depend on a lot of things. How statistically significant were the results, how did they collect the data, are there other studies that agree/disagree with the results?

The Confessions of a Pro-Life, Right Wing Conservative, Part 1 - Blog Entry

I have only participated in the last 3 elections and I really only remember the last two, so please correct me if I am wrong. I would assume that (major candidates) Republican is always pro-life and Democrat is always pro-choice. Would a candidate get its parties support if it wasn't? Will it always be that way. It seems like we won't ever get a major candidate that mixes it up. It seems as if we have this set of ideals that is strictly Republican or Democrat. To a politician it is a career. I almost feel as if they don't always believe what the are saying. Sometimes I get the feeling that politicians say certain things or votes a certain way b/c it is there job and are always looking to get re-elected. My mom has always been a Democrat and raised me that way (or so I thought) I have recently found out she is a registered republican and has voted that way for the last 15+ years. She is county deputy treasure, and she has been doing this b/c when her boss retires she may run for treasure. Why? This was very very disappointing. She is a hypocrite and I think a lot of politicians may be. But I still love her! I wonder how many politicians set aside there ideas for there career?

Is the Republican Party the Only Choice for Christians? - Blog Entry

Pattie, IMO I don't think letting the state decide on the abortion issue is the best plan. Mainly because those who need an abortion will travel to another state and that leaves those with out the money, transportation, health insurance, etc. not able to go to another state to get an abortion. It kind of makes it a class issue. I think there may be better ways of getting the abortion rate down.

Is the Republican Party the Only Choice for Christians? - Blog Entry

Last night after a discussion with friends/coworkers I was questioning myself. Am I making the right decision? They were going on and on about what the bible said and then someone said "we can't really discuss this with someone who doesn't really understand" It made me feel stupid. Well this morning I spent searching the internet for my own answers on non-biased sites. I even thought about changing my mind. I have really got to learn to stick up for my beliefs. Thank you for this blog, I needed a little boost today.

My mom would cook up some ground beef and add tomato sauce or pizza sauce or ketchup! She would spoon it onto the buns and add any toppings we had on hand. She then baked them in the oven.

Should You Get A Home Equity Loan? - Blog Entry

There will always be expectations to rules, but I wouldn't advise anybody to use a home equity loan to pay off credit cards without first looking at other options. First people should call each credit card and ask for lower rates and close the account, not all credit card companies are nice about this but this should be the first step. And there are companies that can help you with this process. In most instances people who can't manage there credit cards will have a hard time managing a home equity loan. I just hate to see people lose there home due to credit cards. And like in your article, houses aren't worth what is owed on them, and when a family pays of credit cards with a home equity loan and continues to make bad financial decisions they get right back in a bad situation and they can't sell there home and end up declaring bankruptcy anyway. Maybe home equity loan should have a requirement of financial counseling!

Should You Get A Home Equity Loan? - Blog Entry

I was always taught NOT to use a home equity loan to pay of credit cards. All you are doing is moving non-secured debt into secured debt, and then risk losing your home.
