How Much Laptop Do You Need? - Blog Entry24 May 2008 01:10 PM As a teacher my laptop goes everywhere with me, without it I wouldn't even have a register for lesson. We use a laptop as a home computer as well as they are more efficient where energy use is concerned. Our at home laptop is actually lighter than my work one, because for the space I need you cannot get a well performing laptop that is also lightweight. I had a Macbook until the motherboard broke after three months, a free replacement was sent and exactly the same thing happened again but this time taking all my work with it. At the moment I have a Hp and I love it, 3mb, 250GB hard drive and a HD screen, I tend not to use the battery and opt for the cable instead as I use my laptop from 9am-3:30pm at a minimum. Retirement and Future Plans - Blog Entry19 May 2008 01:45 PM I don't know about anywhere else but in the UK everyone recieves a minimum state pension, then you can choose whether or not you add to it, as a teacher I will also recieve a teachers pension at 60. We don't have the issues about health insurance either, as everything is free, so I would of thought compared to other places we have it rather easy. When our children have left home we are moving to Devon, preferably on a small holding. Where I live we often have Royalty present, the last time the Princes were here there were vans and cars following them full of photographers and many stayed all night outside their manor house.
