I am one of those ladies who LOVES to talk pregnancy... so any pregnant ladies are welcome to come chat me up! Haha! Packing Your Bags for the Hospital02 Jul 2009 05:45 AM I brought a ton of things that I didn't end up using, including my own clothing. I prefered just wearing the hospital gown so none of my own clothes got messy. But I packed my bag with the mindset that it was better to have things I didn't need than to not have things I ended up wanting. One thing I was really happy to have was a laptop. While the nurses took the baby for various tests I could send out email annoucements to friends and family sharing the good news. TTC and Gender Selection02 Jul 2009 05:34 AM My husband and I didn't mess with any special techniques either. We just wanted a baby! We also liked the idea of having a boy first for the same reasons as you, but God blessed us with a little girl instead. I fully believe God gives us the children He wants us to have and we are completely in love with our sweet daughter. Hopefully she'll have a little brother to take care of in the future! Driving in Late Pregnancy: Some DOs and DON'Ts02 Jul 2009 05:28 AM Also, if you work far from home during your pregnancy (like I did), see if you can work out an arrangement with your company to work from home in your last few weeks of pregnancy. My boss let me work from home starting 2 weeks prior to my due date and it was SO much nicer. I felt a lot more comfortable knowing I was close to my husband's workplace & the hospital! Childbirth Recovery: Unexpected Symptoms29 Jun 2009 06:42 PM Another one to add would be the major hair loss that hits around 3 months PP! I swear as soon as my daughter turned 3 months old I started going bald... the hair comes out in handfuls constantly! Spotting During Early Pregnancy29 Jun 2009 06:39 PM It is so helpful to keep in mind that bleeding can be normal in pregnancy. I didn't know that at first and I completely broke down when I was 6 weeks along and saw some pink! I ended up having a lot of bleeding "scares" throughout my first trimester, but in the end had a healthy and beautiful little girl. Thanks for posting this for all those newly pregnant gals out there. I know I wish I'd read something like this before I went into a panic! Pregnancy and Forgetfulness29 Jun 2009 06:35 PM Yes! Pregnancy definitely makes you lose your mind! Although I'm not sure I agree that it comes back after the birth... there's just a whole new reason for your mind to wander! Keeping a Pregnancy Journal29 Jun 2009 06:28 PM Great ideas! I blogged during my pregnancy and plan to print out the whole "saga" to put in my daughter's keepsake box. When she's older, I hope she will enjoy reading all about how much I loved her before she even arrived! |
