As a fellow goal-writer, I don't think you are dorky. Studies show that folks who write their goals down are significantly more apt to achieve those goals.

These are some great ways to help out families who are struggling with sick kids, and especially to encourage those kids when they need it most. Everything you have suggested shows a great deal of love to these children, which they desperately need. Great work!

I honestly believe the best way to instill a strong work ethic in your kids is like anything you want to teach them - you have to model it. So you should be all set, Miriam! Too bad I can't get you over here to model it for me and mine, LOL.

Great ideas, Miriam! I, too, would love to have had some more medical records of our family tree. All I have to go on for my ancestors right now is their obituaries (some of which are quite colorful!)

Sometimes I wonder if it might be more of a "spirituality" contest - like, if I were RS President everyone would know I was so spiritual.

I love teaching (because I learn so much) and recently subbed for the Sunday School lesson. I was a little disappointed they didn't call me for it. But now I've earned my reward for "desiring" a calling - they just asked me to be Seminary teacher next year! Aack!

You could use the same article to look at public school teachers and see a few cases of abuse that hit the headlines, then say that public school is bad because of a few abusive teachers.
