You are right, it can be tough to forsake the world, especially when it tries so hard to lure us in. But a frequent re-examination can make a severe difference. Obeying From Love - Blog Entry05 Feb 2007 03:49 PM Thanks so much for reading! I'm glad you enjoyed it. You raise a good point. It got me thinking - there is an element of trust involved, as well. Hmmm, now I have something else to blog about! RS/EQ: The Life and Ministry of Spencer W. Kimball - Blog Entry05 Feb 2007 08:15 AM I am glad that you enjoyed it! I haven't started this week - I usually post them in the evening - but they are filed under 'Relief Society'. If you click on the Relief Society button on the left, you'll see several articles from the first two lessons; they all start with the heading 'RS/EQ' to differentiate them from the non-lesson-oriented articles. Thanks for reading, and I am glad that you are enjoying it! PM me or post here if you have any other questions. No Excuses! Hang Your Laundry - Blog Entry02 Feb 2007 10:08 PM I'd love to hang my laundry but my dh objects. He thinks it's too 'country' or whatever. But here's another good excuse for the lazy: homeowners associations. I have actually seen a couple with various rules/by-laws, whatever those things are called against hanging laundry outside. Apparently, those folks are just as snobbish as my dh! Soon, however, I will change him.... Maybe now that we've moved out of the 'city' and into the 'country'! ;) Reading Incentive Programs - Blog Entry02 Feb 2007 10:50 AM I will be swinging by Funtrivia for sure, and probably a few of the others mentioned. Thanks! The Mechanics of a Sacrament Talk - Blog Entry02 Feb 2007 07:49 AM I'm only 8 weeks or so into our new branch, and they've already 'got' me. Talk about quick on the uptake! Top 10 Ways You Know Your Kids Are Learning the Gospel - Blog Entry02 Feb 2007 07:48 AM I'm glad they made you smile! Thanks so much for reading and commenting! Charlotte Mason: Reluctant Narrators - Blog Entry31 Jan 2007 09:15 PM Awesome ideas for relaxed narration! My five year old is still in the 'relaxed' stage of HSing, so she loves to go on and on...and on about what she has read, LOL. Sometimes I'm sorry I asked! (after an hour or so of hearing all the details) But I'm glad she remembers so much; dh was worried for a bit that she wasn't retaining what she read. Let's Talk About The Four-Minute Delivery! - Blog Entry31 Jan 2007 07:47 PM I'm not sure delivery on the kitchen floor with no dock but my husband would qualify as a great delivery for me...but I like the four minutes of contractions idea! That said, I think you are right and she was probably in labor longer than four minutes, though she must not have had bad contractions. My deliveries have always been odd; the last one (3rd) I had contractions that stopped when we got to the hospital. They said if it was my first they would've sent me home, but since it was my 3rd, they let us stay. We were there almost all day - nothing. We decided to go ahead and induce, since we were scheduled to be induced the next day. But as they were preparing to induce, they realized I was dialated, and I had my son within two hours (maybe less, I don't remember anything after that, LOL, I just wanted my epidural!). For the Love of Math - Blog Entry31 Jan 2007 12:10 PM Awesome, thanks so much! My kids have some coins, and they love their magnifying glass. I think that if we picked up some of those measuring tapes, they would have a blast!
