I was just wondering if the person asking could use trig, much less teach it. One of my math teachers - I think it was Algebra II but I don't remember for sure - wasn't all that great at teaching it. The whole class struggled. He was very nice, though!

Tina, wow, thanks for the heads' up! Once we found the Friend and other stuff, it became too much of a hassle to scan the coloring books anyway, but I definitely don't want to endorse it. Guess I'd better edit this one! Oops!

Great read, and definitely one I need to start working on. Next pregnancy, I think I'm going to plan the HS curriculum for the next year BEFORE conception. ;) If you can use the internet to reserve library books, then you can just run in and out of the library, or send someone else to pick them up.

Somehow every time my kids get on a schedule, they hit a growth spurt (or finish one) and their schedules change. It drives me up the WALL! Then they go fairly regular and my body adjusts, but the transition always kills me.

We are all about reusing paper for kids to draw on. My dh used to have an office job and brought home a ton of paper. We also used any household excess, and they love the envelopes for paying bills.

At least the common sense factor kicked in when you dealt with the authorities. It could have been far worse in that regard. Glad things worked out in the short term; I hope they work out in the long term, with the bullying. Did you hear from the kid's parents? I can't believe they didn't contact you, especially since you are neighbors.

When I was a kid, I was a frequent target of bullying. Verbal abuse I just shut out (although it still affected me), but not physical bullying. I had a boy one time who broke into an arguement I was having with my sister. First he was just running his mouth (and I insulted him back), but then he hauled off and hit me. My motto has always been, let them strike first, but you strike last. If nothing else, it kept me from getting in trouble. I'm not completely sure I agree - though I understand where you are coming from, and I know my dh would advocate the same - but I'm definitely all for self-defense.

For a great learning site, where the kids don't even know they are learning, check out www.starfall.com! It's great for beginning readers and letter recognition. It doesn't have the characters, but the kids still love it.
