On a side note, one of the prophets of this dispensation (I don't remember who) gave the church's official position on evolution. We believe in evolution, but not that man came from monkeys. I am a techno-geek, and I am so grateful to be alive in an age when I can download Conference from the church website and be able to either burn a CD or listen to it on my MP3 player. In fact, I'm loving the ability to Tivo conference via satellite at home and watch it for months. Just looking at the past 150 years and how much easier it is for the saints around the world to access the scriptures and the teachings of the church amazes me. The Creation - Blog Entry05 Jan 2007 06:06 PM As an astrophysics major, I was amazed by all of the things that had to be 'just right' to make life on this earth possible. Little things, like our exact position from the sun and the existance and location of the moon, conspire together to make me agree with many other scientists - the idea of this being an accident is seemingly impossible to comprehend. I think if more people knew what went into making life on this planet possible, the arguement would quickly come to a standstill. I also have a strong testimony of tithing. When my husband and I were starting out, after he lost his job and I was pregnant, and we were living with my in-laws, we had a lengthy discussion on whether or not to pay tithing. We decided to do pay it despite our struggles, and was amazed that we always had enough money to meet our needs every month. We've never had to discuss the issue again!
