Sleep When The Baby Sleeps - Blog Entry

01 Jan 2007 02:37 PM

I have 3 kids under 6 and am pregnant with the fourth. Through this pregnancy, I've putting putting my 5 yo down for 'quiet time', my 2 yo down for naps, and rubbing my 3 yo's back until he falls asleep, all in the name of stealing an hour or so for me! It took a bit of a struggle to coordinate them, but it's well worth it.

Parenting with Poetry - Blog Entry

Hmm, didn't consider using rhyme to clean the house! I've tried singing but never rhyming. My kids love Shel Silverstein and I've checked out Stevenson's book of children's verses. That's probably about the best I've done other than Mother Goose, but they do enjoy those, as well!

How Much Did You Pay for Milk Last Year? - Blog Entry

01 Jan 2007 02:33 PM

I was shocked to see Atlanta's price, the best I've found at the grocery store was about $3.60 for whole milk. But my husband reminded me that BJs, a warehouse store, stayed pretty constant at about $2.50/gallon, which is where we picked ours up usually. That said, I was happy to see Philly so much lower now that we've moved!

I Can't Think of a Title. . . - Blog Entry

All I can say is, wow. I can imagine the stress, but my frustration point grew when my then-14 yo SIL asked me to proofread her paper and told me it wasn't important that she know how to spell, thanks to spellcheck! I told her if she wasn't going to fix her spelling, I wasn't proofreading. She got an A+ with the misspellings, thus proving her right, and her mom agreed with her that with spellcheck, it didn't matter. It boggles my mind.

Online Tutor! - Blog Entry

01 Jan 2007 02:24 PM

Thanks for the suggestion! I looked at tutoring awhile back but dropped it because my kids are all small and the cost of paying for babysitting exceeded the income. Online may just work out! I'll have to take a look!

Fostering Empathy - Blog Entry

Some great points! Argh, how did empathy get left off my list of 'things to work on'? Thanks for the thoughts!

A Brand New Year With No Mistakes in It - Blog Entry

Great perspective. Would you believe I never actually 'got' the idea of picturing the new year as a new baby? Duh! Great blog!

Writing Letters: Is it a Lost Art Form? - Blog Entry

01 Jan 2007 02:19 PM

Letters also make great keepsakes to treasure in the future. I wish I had some love letters from my dh! Maybe I'll kick him out of the house for awhile... ;)

Relief Society: Do You Feel Inadequate? - Blog Entry

01 Jan 2007 10:37 AM

Great article! One of my favorite books to read when I feel 'attacked' by inadequacy is Stephen Covey's "Believing Christ". It talks about comparing yourself to others, or trying to do 'too much', and how we need to not only believe in Christ but actually BELIEVE Him when He says He wants to be our Savior. Great book.
