on the idea of issuing a debit instead of a credit card. What an unheard of idea! You almost never see that posted, and it's a wonderful thing to read, and an idea I fully support. On a side note, you must be older than me...both of my parents have way too much credit (my mom declared bankruptcy about ten years ago and thankfully doesn't have a credit card anymore) and so do my in-laws. But my grandmother tells me that when my grandfather was alive, they used one of his bimonthly paychecks to pay the bills and saved the other one. Can you imagine families today doing that?

Good tips. Our old ward had some sort of Primary activity to ease the transition. Our new branch, LOL, groups the 'younger' Primary (3-7) in one class, all four kids, so that makes it a little easier!

Since I never trust the paycheck people (LOL), I sit down and verify that the paycheck went through, then pay the bills at that point. Since we get paid biweekly, it helps me keep things up. Then again, I'm the budget 'nerd' in our family; I have a spreadsheet for the next month, so there you go.

I hate shopping for my husband. Even when I think I picked something he wants, I always seem to flop. He solved the problem this year by buying himself a nice laptop, but hopefully my followup gifts will be a hit.

Great blog! I always feel so 'where does that go', it's nice to know I don't have to stress about some things with my 5 yo now. On the other hand, I am the evil Mommy who, after she had reading out loud down, encouraged her to first read in a whisper and now read silently. That way I could read to myself, too. LOL.

Aw, you missed a prime chance! As Mommy, you have the inside track on what Santa brings, and when they are so young, they don't know what you want....so you make sure they ask for just what they are getting! Score!

As for me, I've always wished that a letter to Santa would get returned to Mommy for the scrapbook. Maybe Santa will live at Grandma's house this year.... Hmmm.
