I have often marveled how easily kings in the OT seem to be led astray by their advisors. Part of that comes, I think, from listening to men rather than God. It is easier to listen to those who flatter you than those who would reprimend and teach you. At the same time, it is impressive that both of the kings you mentioned recovered sufficiently from their pride to correct the problem.

A fantastic idea! I wish our ward YW leaders would think about this. Another thing I have wished for, as a genealogy buff with small children - babysitting so I can go to the Family History Center. It seems like such a small thing, but it can be so hard to do!

You would be amazed at how many options are available. I actually did, um, pre-postpartum depression counseling (?). I had struggled with ppd after the births of my first two, and decided to go proactive while pregnant with the third.

Wow, I can't imagine dieting over the holidays (just stumbled into your blog)! Sounds like you are going in with a sensible game plan that will let you manage the best of all worlds. Just one question - did you plan for more than three (maybe five?) bites of your favorite dish? The one you know you will wind up cheating on? ;)

Wow, this is great. I knew there was a cure for PMS - get a job! To think of all those lucky working women who never suffer PMS because they are in a professional environment! I may just have to bail on my kids now, just to save them from such evil!

We used toilet paper holders as 'feet' when we made a dragon pinata for DD's birthday party. I wish we had had a paper towel holder for a way better snout and tail! Great blog!
