Teaching Your Children Kindness - Blog Entry

We also use the television to focus on situations. (One reason I love Tivo; I can pause programs.) If we see a show where someone is behaving negatively or excluding someone, I try to talk to them about how the teased person must feel, what we could do in a similar situation, etc. TV, of course, is not our primary teacher, but we use it to build up rather than tear down. Great blog!

Remember Why You Got Married - Blog Entry

I truly believe that the best thing you can do in terms of helping your children's testimony to grow is to teach them to recognize and enjoy the Spirit.

Primary Time: Assigning Talks - Blog Entry

Knowing the children and their abilities can help ease them into giving talks. My daughter gave a talk when she was a Sunbeam; the teacher knew she could handle it (probably when she asked the Primary President, a friend of mine, if she could give one). Other children who are older may have problems that mean they need more encouragement and support in giving a talk. But this is a great thing for the kids to do.

Obtaining the Records - Blog Entry

You are absolutely right about the census information. It gives you a good jumping off point, but nothing exact, which is why I believe getting the actual records is so important. Thank you so much for reading!

Do Coupons Really Save You Money? - Blog Entry

Valorie, $400-500 sounds better than average for a large, diaper-filled family. I agree with Mary Ann; you can get started right away, though obviously the longer you do it, the better your savings are going to increase. A big part of the cutout came when I had enough of a stockpile not to need to buy things at full price, and the bigger your stockpile, the sooner you save the money.
