I know everyone says that it is harder to live now, but I agree with you. I think I'd rather deal with some of the modern hardships than handle the whole plain-crossing, icy winter thing. So you aren't the only one!!!

Relief Society: Cliques - Blog Entry

I know what you mean about overcoming cliques in smaller wards; with only about fifteen active members in our branch, I'd be in trouble if I just tried to hang out with the young moms!

A frequent self-check should be part of our spiritual walk. Just taking 'inventory' at the end of each day can help us make sure we change any problem situations we find ourselves in.

Of course, you should be teaching your son to have respect from the get-go. ;) Also, I've heard (albeit not experienced) that if you are planning to have your young men/women wait until they are sixteen to date, as counseled, you should let them know that at an early age, so they don't anticipate it sooner. Great blog, Miriam!

Another inexpensive gift is a homemade, personalized bookmark. You can use cardstock and either stamps or markers, depending on your supplies; if you are really 'groovy', you can laminate it.

I love the idea of a babysitting swap. We homeschool, and so that means I will be taking four kids with me for a number of years. I never thought about trading babysitting! Thanks!

Kids judge grandmas by their love, not their age. Definitely be flattered! ;)
