They tell me that our kids are really the only ones that know the words. Honestly, the only thing I have been really successful with lately (thanks to our newborn) is just playing the CD - and the kids pick it up. I do try to encourage them to sing on the way to and from church. (I also put it on when they are fighting in the car, so we listen to it alot!) The Spirit of the Word of Wisdom - Blog Entry23 Jul 2007 07:25 PM Regarding the leadership being selective when it comes to getting a temple recommend: I have never been asked in a temple interview if I drink or smoke, but always if I am following the WoW. This more leaves it in your hands on whether or not you are - you have to check yourself. As Miriam's blog pointed out (way way back, LOL), there is more to the WoW than just tea, tobacco, drugs, and alcohol. These are just the more telling ones. I know that I am not eating as healthily (?) as I should be, although I am also not as bad off as most. This is one of those things I am working on correcting; sometimes harder than others. I need to eat more grains and less meat. Usually, this is especially prompted to me during a temple recommend interview, which I emerge from with a stronger resolve to improve my eating habits. I've also received encouragement from church leaders to improve this; I brought it up once during an interview. I think it counts, but I also think that there is a lot left to personal inspiration. I do think more folks need to study it in full, not just take it for granted; that would strongly improve the inspiration point. I like the idea of having an activity on Monday; that was the biggest arguement against a complete switch.
