Shopping the Sales: Cool Christmas Clearance for Cats

I told you about some cool Christmas clearance for dogs, so naturally I have to include feline finds next. Ready to start shopping? Good, because here we go: Bedding: This bed is just too cute. Doctors Foster and Smith have a Kitty Royale Bed in the shape of a jester’s hat. Bells on the tips of the points might distract Kitty from sleeping, though, as the bed can serve double duty as a toy. They’ve got it on sale at 40% off. Regularly $29.99, now $17.99. (They had a crown bed, too, but it’s sold out. I’m not surprised. These … Continue reading

Close To My Heart Profile and Interview (1)

Close to My Heart has always been one of my favorite scrapbook related companies. I don’t know if it’s because it is one of the first experiences I ever had with rubber stamps and I bought dozens, or if it’s because I love everything they offer and I’m still buying dozens! The story of Close to My Heart and it’s beginnings is an interesting one, actually. The founder, Jeanette Lynton, started her first direct-sales decorative stamp business in 1984. This business venture eventually turned into the former company D.O.T.S. (Dozens of Terrific Stamps). This was when I was introduced to … Continue reading

A Little “Hump-Day” Inspiration

I was watching the President’s State of the Union Address a few moments ago and was thrilled when he invited Julie Aigner-Clark of Colorado to stand for applause. The name Julie Aigner-Clark may not ring a bell to you, but if you are the mother of preschoolers (or even young elementary students) I’ll bet you’ve heard of Baby Einstein before. I’ll never forget the first time I saw a Baby Einstein video. One of my girlfriends gave it to me when my daughter was teething. My baby was mesmerized the moment she saw the puppets and toys dance across the … Continue reading

A Name on the Quilt – Jeannine Atkins

Laura and her family have gathered together to make a special quilt to remember her Uncle Ron, who has died. Some of Ron’s friends came over and they are helping, too. As they stitch, they share memories of the fun things that Ron used to do with them. He took Laura ice skating, they went to the lake, they played Scrabble, and they loved to dance in Ron’s living room. By the time the quilt is finished, everyone has contributed their thoughts about Ron and how he will be missed. What the story portion of the book doesn’t say outright … Continue reading
