Step Out From Behind The Camera - Blog Entry

11 Sep 2006 06:33 PM

You too crack me up. I'm glad my article got you thinking about getting photos into those albums of yourself too. The last thing I want is for my kids to grow up someday and say "This is Grandma - it's the only picture of her we have" and it winds up being some "old wrinkled, gray and falling" picture. LOL It's time we get our own "mugs" into the shots too!

A Touching Moment With Scrapbook In Hand - Blog Entry

You're very welcome. I'm glad you were touched by it. It was certainly a wake up call to me that I need to focus more on looking at the albums not just making the layouts. Thank you for your sweet words.

Step Out From Behind The Camera - Blog Entry

Ladies thanks so much for the great comments on this article! It is so important to get ourselves in our albums too. In fact, just last night I sat with my daughter on my bed and we looked through my INCOMPLETE albums from 2001 and 2002. There were many comments said that touched my heart, but one of them was "That's the only time I've seen you in here Mom". I realized that I really do have to make that effort constantly.

I too am a control freak when it comes to the camera and typically have "moments" in my head I want to capture everytime we do something, but thankfully I am blessed with a terrific SO who doesn't mind taking the camera from me once in awhile and getting pictures of all of us!

don't forget the timer on your camera - that way NOBODY misses out in the picture!!

and Megan - you better hurry up and get that camera fixed - you're going to miss the next three months of photo ops! At least buy a few disposables to get your through, or ask a friend or relative for an old one they might not use anymore.

Have a great week ladies and thank you for reading this article!

Toddler in the House? Get the Gun Out - Blog Entry

11 Sep 2006 07:19 AM

Heather this is an incredibly important blog to have been written. I totally agree with the entire thing and it's a shame so many households have guns in them with young, small children. I have been blessed to have alterior methods of "defense" not involving guns in my home, but it doesn't change the fact that almost any "defense" is dangerous in a household with toddlers. Thanks for writing this blog.

Michele, I too really don't care for her, however what a tragic, unimagineable event! I had no idea so thank you for sharing this. I really should watch the news more, but it's easier to escape! :)

I am so glad you do it too Michele - So many people forget to "step out" that they miss all the opportunities to be in their own albums! :) And yes, I've been known to go to a complete strange and ask if they would mind - most people don't and actually think it's fun. I've had some people even come up to me before and offer - I used to say no, but now I hand the camera right over!

05 Sep 2006 08:46 PM

Ladies I'm glad this made you all laugh and smile! It is hard to get our significant others to scrapbook with us. At this time in my life I have been truly blessed with someone who really DOES want to scrapbook with me, but trust me it was not always that way. At least a few of you have hubbies that don't mind taking the photos, I'm never in pics because I'm behind the camera....ahhhh another blog ;)
