The Scrapbook Store Garage Sale Controversy - Blog Entry

03 Jan 2008 10:17 PM

I noticed that a M's in our area hosted one awhile back. See if any of the major stores do one. I am blessed to have a LSS nearby that does them though it has been awhile. Perhaps in the Spring. I hope you are able to find one, otherwise consider hosting one yourself.

Are Those Idea Books Any Good? - Blog Entry

03 Jan 2008 10:09 PM

I'm an idea book junkie. I literally have over a hundred different idea books, mostly scrapbook related. In fact, honestly they are all for scrapbooking even if they might be for a different medium.

I cannot get enough idea books. I can feel your pain. Oh, and I have heard of Cherish and Imagine, but need to check them out. Thanks for the heads up! Anyone else have any good ones?

Don't Throw That Away - Old Clothing - Blog Entry

I do the same thing. Selling the clothing obviously earns a bit more money than reusing the item, but there are some items that just cannot be sold no matter how much we wish they could be. These are the items I have been reusing.

I got the basic pack, and it is AWESOME!! I love what i can do, and will be continuing to purchase more, as I buy more ribbon. Plus, I'm a geek, I love how it looks - all the colors and it is so easy to find what I want for each layout!

Ghosting or Boo-ing - Blog Entry

We've done this every year for the past five years and intend to do it again this year. We typically choose families we know well, as we would assume has been done to us in the past. It was my understanding that originally it was started as a way for friends to sort of "secretly admire" a family with treats at Halloween time. I was unaware of complete strangers doing it to each other, and yes, that would raise my concern letter a little more. We actually leave our neighborhood to leave the treats on our friends door steps, and the friends that I know who have been doing it for awhile, do the same.

I'm curious to hear what others experiences have been.

I am not sure that it is stupid to do IVF. I actually completely disagree with that statement. While I did not use IVF to conceive my children, and I do not have twins, I don't think I would hesitate to use IVF if in a similar situation and unable to conceive naturally. I do however agree, that having twins might be a difficult adjustment, but my goodness, love your children you have been blessed with. They are an incredible irreplaceable gift, and this Australian woman, seriously has issues!! And by the way, I have five children and I can assure you that even if I added them all together, it has not cost $300,000 to raise them. I am sure she is including college education in there, but isn't that one of those things that becomes a choice at that age?

Ugh! This story just makes me so mad.

Anyway, thank you for all you do and I know I will be reading this category often!

Viral Emails: Have You Seen the One About...? - Blog Entry

Ok, I'll tell you a secret. LOL I really don't know if I would have known it was a Mastiff right off either, but when I got it the first time in my email it actually said the breed name. LOL Our newfies were show dogs so I grew up at the dog shows around the country. (yeah everyone else was going to Disney World for vacation - nope not us, we were going to dog shows LOL) Anyway, that's where I learned what I know about dogs, and I can usually tell a breed. That Mastiff is a bit hard to tell though, as I am not as familiar with them. They sure are cute though! LOL (of course compared to my little Shih-Tzu pup, he's ginormous!)
