BioNicole Humphrey is a freelance writer, consultant for CTMH and a Sr. Blogger for families.com. She resides in St. Charles, Missouri with Mike and their five children and two furbabies. Nicole is also a work at home mom. While she owns her own small home business, she also works as a freelance writer, copywriter, editor and author. Nicole's personal scrapbook motto, is: "From Shoe Boxes to Family Treasures...One Page at a Time...". She enjoys helping other's live that way too. Nicole grew up in St. Louis, Missouri. She started writing poetry and song lyrics as early as age 7 and 8, and continued the practice nearly all her life, in addition to also keeping journals and diaries. Her journals and diaries often turned into scrapbooks of some sort. Being creative early on in childhood she enjoyed crafts, writing, reading, taking pictures and loved to spend time outdoors. A big nature buff. In her first 18 years of life she attended 4 private schools, 4 public schools and remained in the same home those full 18 years. When she turned 19, she moved to Florida where she resided with her boyfriend and later husband for 7 years. She has since been divorced for six years and was a single parent of two until recently when she blended her family and is now a happy shared parent of five. Much of Nicole's writing reflects her personal stories and experiences which makes for great education, personal experience and humor. She has been published in various trade media and more recently got accepted to write for an international trade magazine. Nicole has been scrapbooking for over 12 years (upon the birth of her son) in the modern scrapbooking sense, however always had a passion for creating special albums when she was younger. One album dates back over 20 years. In March of 2006 she was offered a position with families.com writing for the scrapbooking blog. She enjoys offering her readers new content often and getting to know their personal scrapbooking needs and goals. She has spent the past 8 years teaching scrapbooking classes as several local scrapbook stores, conventions and community centers. As a single parent for so many years, and now a rather large family of seven, she has been practicing a frugal living lifestyle for nearly seven years. Recently she turned to an even more frugal living lifestyle to enable her to stay home and write, and not leave their five children. She has always had an interest in ways to cut costs and save money (mostly to then spend on scrapbook stuff). This experience has given her the opportunity to guest write for the frugal living blog at families.com. Nicole has also guest blogged on the Single Parenting blog, Food blog , adoption and a handful of others. Her interests are broad and cover many other areas including adoption, blended families, ADHD and several other topics. Always one for education, she has continued to learn more about her interests by enrolling in workshops, trainings and other events for professionals in her areas of interest. She has also written several articles for local publications dealing with these interests. Nicole is currently working on several articles for scrapbooking magazines and two scrapbooking websites. She is also in the process of working on two children's books and her first book series. Life continues to be one adventure after another.
