When it comes to seasonal scrapbooking, I am always a day late and a dollar short. It took me years to figure out that I am not a daily scrapper. Get Kids Involved in All Aspects of Scrapbooking

My 7-year-old has been scrapbooking since she was a preschooler. She started by helping me place stickers on layouts. Eventually, she learned how to stamp, and then mastered the art of adhering mementos to the page. These days she designs her own memory albums using a variety of embellishments; however, she is still working on including her own photos on the layouts. Unique Memory Albums

I’m hooked on chipboard scrapbooks. Not chipboard embellishments; I am head over heels in awe of chipboard memory albums whose pages spell out words, such as “Mother,” “Love,” “Family,” “Vacation,” or “Sister.” I rarely stray from crafting anything but traditional albums. Typically, my focus is on squeezing as many photos on a single layout as possible, so using a standard 12×12 page works best for me. Beating Scrapbooking Block

Even the best crafters suffer from scrapper’s block every once in a while. In fact, after designing hundreds of layouts, it’s not uncommon for the most experienced scrapbookers to resort to beginner techniques or materials. Recently, I was quite shocked to learn that my neighbor and scrapbooking mentor (she has been creating elaborate memory albums for more than 25 years) uses instructional scrapbook paper from time to time.
