White elephant gift exchanges are fun and perfect for the budget
On several occasions I've taken part in white elephant gift exchanges and they have been a lot of fun. The idea is to reuse something old that you know someone won't want, with the idea of making them laugh. When we moved into our home, we were left with lots of garbage stored on the property.

For the Less than Perfect Cook
I did some early Christmas baking and tried to spice up the same old sugar cookies with some alternative decorations and flavorings. I've baked for nearly 40 years so you'd think the one time I went to write about the experience everything would turn out perfectly. Not so. Family spending--Nightmare or Peaceful Ease
We have a large family so gift giving is always part politicking and part pleasure. The arguments about how to handle Christmas usually start about Thanksgiving and continue through the end of the year. These are peaceful discussions more than arguments, yet not everyone agrees. Thanks for the link to the article. That is really horrific. I think parents should be much more detached for their children's lives.

Going to Disney in March
Plan to schedule early because the resort hotels fill up--they are nice and you're inside the gates making life a bit easier.

Dress Codes in Schools - How Much is too Much (or Too Little)
I remember holding sit ins to have the right to wear jeans instead of dresses to school and attending a Catholic school where dress was mandatory.

Creative, yet Frugal Christmas Gift Ideas
Those are wonderful ideas. My room mate at college gave me a mug with packages of hot chocolate, mints and a candy cane. It was so sweet and such a great idea.

1) I like to laugh more than anything in the world.
2) I wish I had children of my own but waited until too late and then couldn't have them but I have a large extended family.

what is your favourite homemade dessert?
I love rice crispy bars and chocolate meringue pie. My favorite is banana cream pie--you cook vanilla pudding from a package.
