On several occasions I've taken part in white elephant gift exchanges and they have been a lot of fun. The idea is to reuse something old that you know someone won't want, with the idea of making them laugh. When we moved into our home, we were left with lots of garbage stored on the property.

I did some early Christmas baking and tried to spice up the same old sugar cookies with some alternative decorations and flavorings. I've baked for nearly 40 years so you'd think the one time I went to write about the experience everything would turn out perfectly. Not so. I love rice crispy bars and chocolate meringue pie. My favorite is banana cream pie--you cook vanilla pudding from a package.
"Thanks for the great write up."
