Some Quick Cleaning Tips

27 Aug 2006 09:11 AM

Thanks for the tip about using a lint roller on lampshades. I never knew what to try. I never had much use for a lint roller since I don't think they work, but on dust, I bet they do a spiffy job. We use vinegar all the time for cleaning.

Protect your Hair from Damage

Boy, I sure remember my swim team days of green hair. I use a leave-in hair conditioner before swimming. After swimming, I rinse the chlorine out and then reapply the conditioner. My hair dresser recommends using a temporary hair color to touch up roots as a way to help protect my hair from damage.

My husband was told by a study at the Boeing company that the worst place for germs were door knobs and light switch covers. I make sure that I give them a good wipe every time I'm cleaning. The bathroom door knob and light especially because when you're sick, you're touching both of those often.

Bill, I've been tempted by the photographer's market. Have you earned any sales by using it? What's their advice that helped you the most?

You're right on target. Even $1 set aside is a $1 that will be there in the future.

Why Blueberries and Cranberries are good for you

I love both blueberries and cranberries. In fact, I think berries are one of the fruits with a fairly high amount of fiber. Very good eating.

A Few of My Favorite Things: Geography

19 Aug 2006 11:58 PM

I'm glad to read about so many geography programs. I love geography and travel. But I still find myself scratching my head and turning to the map to find places and rivers and mountains and lakes I never spotted before. If you haven't tried GoogleEarth, a free download from Google, I recommend it. It's fun to see your own home from a satellite view.

Summer And Your Plants

19 Aug 2006 11:54 PM

I'm one of the folks that sit back and let my garden grow in summer. I should do some deadheading to make things bloom longer. And I should trim up out of flower plants so everything looks beautiful. And I should weed so that my pretty flowers have room to expand.

Egypt-- Where Old Meets New

16 Aug 2006 09:40 PM

Misty, this is a good article about Egypt. I found arriving at the pyramids from inside downtown Cairo made them lose some of their appeal, especially the flashing Coke sign. I went twenty years ago so and the middle east was relatively peaceful. I don't think I would go there right now, call me chicken.

Adapting Sketches

Lisa excellent article that shows as well as tells. You have talent. I'm lucky if I can get my photo's organized on line. My sister, however is quite a scrapbook addict. It's her favorite form of socializing, many of her best friends get together and scrap book.
