Most city dwellers lived in high rise buildings like those shown in my picture. We were told the electricity wasn't reliable. So that means that you could never rely on the elevators. The one child rule is in existence, unless you're an only child or a minority. On one of our visits we went downtown Seattle and visited Pikes Place market. We have taken my niece and nephews here and had a fun time. One of the favorite of among 100s of shops was the magic store where you can learn all the fun tricks. Food samples are offered by many vendors--our favorite was wine vinegars. Yummy.
