Free Concerts by your local parks department

Tonight we went to one of the free concerts that the Renton Parks Department offers at Coulon Park. Coulon Park is on the south side of Lake Washington, near the Renton Boeing factory, has terrific views of the Olympics, and of Mt. Rainier, a boat launch, a sailing club, a kayak/canoe club, bathrooms for changing, two fast food restaurants -- Ivar's Fish and Chips and Kidd Valley, a walking trail, sandy beach and swim area, and a bird sanctuary. A totally cool place at any time, but the concert added magic. Two of Seattle's long time (22 years) easy listening stars played many of their best songs -- including the melodic, the mystical from the southwest, and was generally sounding well and fun to listen to. Few things in life are free, so adding such outings to one's life is highly recommended. This is a good date for young couples, a romantic night out for the happily married, good mood music for the writer, a wonderful place for the children to get out and just run off energy. Take time to smell the roses and you'll find there's a lot of roses out there.
