Hong Kong

We just returned from China, sick with bronchitis but very thankful we live in the United States. Most city dwellers lived in high rise buildings like those shown in my picture. We were told the electricity wasn't reliable. So that means that you could never rely on the elevators. The one child rule is in existence, unless you're an only child or a minority. Most are encouraged to wait until marriage until 24 years old, and you get additional vacation time. That means you live with your parents until then. And there's almost no place to have private time with someone you love. Abortion is used for any additional pregnancies because if you have a second child, he or she will have no rights to go to school, hold a job, get a house, etc. Really harsh. On the more positive side, their poetry is centuries old. Read more about how travel and poetry go together.
