White elephant gift exchanges are fun and perfect for the budget

On several occasions I've taken part in white elephant gift exchanges and they have been a lot of fun. The idea is to reuse something old that you know someone won't want, with the idea of making them laugh. When we moved into our home, we were left with lots of garbage stored on the property. Many people believe they are saving money to not go to the dump, but my experience is that dump costs just keep getting higher every year. We always sort through our old clothing, books, unused items on shelves and either donate them to charity or give them to someone we know who'll use them. Keeping up on your old items helps keep your house clean and easy to move through. But, it's also a source of fun.
