End of 3rd week of school

Today has been a great day homeschooling. DD8 has finished 3 workbooks in her Lifepac's (history/geo, LA & Science).  Next week she will start a new book in each subject.  She really is excelling well this year.  She is reading better and is recalling much of what she has learned over the last 3 weeks.

Fall has hit the Snowy Range Foothills

Living at 7200 feet is a really interesting place.  We have 3 months of summer and 9 months of fall/winter.  We miss spring because it really is only on the calendar and not in the weather.    Fall here is rain and some snow.  Today we had rain all day.  It really isn't that bad because I can bring out my candles and drink tea all day.

New to Families.com

I am so excited to have found this site.  I am a mother of 3 (dd19 and married, ds10 and dd8). We have been homeschooling for 5 years now.  I am married to my wonderful hard working, railroader of a husband Steven for 14.5yrs and we reside in S.E. Wyoming.

Over the last 5 years we have tried the following.Sonlight 3yrs (disliked it)Mater Amabilis 1yr (Catholic Curriculum online under MaterAmabilis.

Im NEW w/ 2 special needs children

All 3 of mine are special needs to varying degrees. Oldest is ADHD, middle is visually impaired and youngest is learning delayed.

Well, I was thinking of homeschooling...

When you think about it, how are kids watching TV these days? Ridgid on the couch or sprawled out on the recliners and sofa's.

Speech programs for homeschoolers?

my youngest daughter had speech therapy when she was 3 and I would take her 1 day a week to group.

Believe me it does get better

I remember when my daughter was 8 and it was the hardedst time in our lives but now that she is 18 (19 in 3 days) she is such a joy. We are all eating breakfast together and she is really quiet now.

How old are your twins?? My kids have learned that they are to have inside voices at all time inside the house or other building.

you are saying 5 or 6 as minimum I am saying 7 as max that they will allow you to late enroll. This is why I homeschool my daughter wasn't ready at 7 to start K work all.
