It's Time To Take A Stand - Blog Entry

Being a 22 year veteran of the military and having been a part of several wars, I understand both sides of the Iraq war. What I don't understand is how our elected officials can be against our military being killed in Iraq or any where else in the world, wanting our troops brought home when they can't even protect American citizens here in the U. S. The number of American troops killed each year and since the Iraq war began are far less than the people that are killed by drunk drivers, murders, and rapists each year and in the last six years. Why aren't our elected officials crying out to have these horrific acts stopped? Sure there are laws to prevent these acts, but are they really enforced the way they should be? Even the elected officials get way with druk driving, sexual misconduct and even commiting purgery. Its not the terrorists that America has to be concerned about, but the fact that America is destroying itself from within by it's own people.
