If we lived in a state with a good community college system, I'd try like the devil to get my son to consider that for the first two years. I predict that community colleges will only become more attractive as the price tag for higher education rises. We always sought out the Caldecott's and the Newbery books when our two sons were growing up. As the mom of the high school senior, I'm a little rusty on children's literature now but some are just classics no matter how old. I wrote on my blog today about this week being Banned Books Week and we all need to be reminded just how important it is to treasure our books. |
