I just ran across that one and I'm going to try that too. I'm a pumpkin junkie ;-)

The cookies are really very good. We just iced them today and are taking them to a coffee and dessert/talk event.

The pumpkin cookies make a positively delicious batter. The cookies are in the oven now, but the batter is just fantastic.

Very good for breakfast.

Blasphemy, Free Speech and Kathy Griffin's World View - Blog Entry

Very interesting perspective on this incident. I admire the "lets change our lives" take on it rather than the "hit back" concept. Though I think a combination of both may be the most effective. Either way, I find Griffin incredibly crass. This comment was just more of her annoying same routine, except now she gets on Larry King Live. There is no such thing as bad publicity.

After 9/11 I've heard many, many people tell Mohammed to "suck this" and worse. And since Muslims don't have as loud a voice in the US, the backlash just never happens. So I put this comment right up there with all of the other disrespectful comments I've heard media people say in the last six years, and just add the person who said it to the "idiot" column.

Extra Grocery Rewards: Get Them with A Bonus Card - Blog Entry

There isn't any reason at all that you need to use valid information for a store card. Unless you want check cashing or really want the mailings they send to your house (which I rarely receive anyway) just use your dog's name and an incorrect address. If they are going to require that you divulge personal information to give you the prices they used to give you anyway, then they can give the discount to Fluffy Cattins.

Should Formula Cans Contain Warning Labels? - Blog Entry

14 Jan 2007 09:45 AM

Talking to moms and helping them breastfeed is an infinitely wiser way to spend money than labels on formula. If I hadn't done my own research, actively seeking help and support and information, regarding breastfeeding I probably would have bottlefed. The information and support simply isn't there and it needs to be. The ped at my hospital attempted to force me to bottlefeed before leaving the hospital. These things must stop. Warning labels aren't the answer.

Don't Try This At Home: When Frugality Goes Wrong - Blog Entry

Scott definitely lasts longer than the soft stuff. DH prefers the soft stuff, I prefer Scott. And since I am the one that figures out the deals with the coupons every week, we usually get Scott, LOL! He'll want the soft stuff and I'll say, "But we still have 2 12 packs of Scott left dear!" and since that lasts sooo long... Heh, he doesn't get the soft stuff very much.

And DH, before he was DH once brought me "dead people flowers" from a funeral he attended. Now granted, they were beautiful and I've been known to get flowers from dumpsters from time to time...but DEAD PEOPLE FLOWERS!?!? I freaked! And we have yet to forget it!
