Great point, Mary! I wish I was a better cook. We still like restaurant meals better, but I am working on it! =)

How Do You Teach Frugality to the MTV Generation? - Blog Entry

Come on now, Dinosmile...maybe I am WAYYYYY older than you! LOL.

Okay - maybe we are *that* generation, but I am pretty old-fashioned and it feels like the "bling-bling" movement has gotten out of control.

Perhaps I need to start laughing now because I know it is coming soon enough.....

=) Thanks for the comment!

Babies Produced by the Drug Culture - Blog Entry

09 Mar 2007 11:37 PM

Great article again, Ed!

I worked with a similar type of woman when I was a social worker. Each time we would take a baby from her, she would have another one. (She actually gave birth in her own home to prevent us from finding out) - thankfully...we always did!

It is so frustrating but I am thankful for people like you who are willing to take the risks of adopting drug-exposed babies!

Social Workers: A Day in Their Shoes - Blog Entry

Wonderful post, Ed! As a former child-abuse investigator....I had the same experiences.

Quite honestly..I wouldn't return to that career for any amount of money, but I am so thankful that there are people who are willing to put up with the disrespect, abuse and low pay. It is a really tough (and dangerous) job. I am thankful for people like you who seem to "get it".

Proposed Foster Care Reform in Texas - Blog Entry

22 Feb 2007 10:43 AM

As a former child abuse investigator, I am thankful that they are taking the problem seriously in TX and hope that the trend continues elsewhere.

Part of the reason that horrific things can happen to children in the foster care system is that case workers are busy putting out fires vs. solving problems. There simply is not enough oversight of these homes and not enough staff to do it.

Should You Start a Direct Sales Blog? - Blog Entry

21 Feb 2007 08:16 AM

Personally - I believe the best way to start is to use blogger.com. I've tried the other formats and blogger seems to be the most user friendly for a new blogger. I know many bloggers that start using blogger.com but then move into formats like Wordpress and Typepad for various reasons. Frankly, I don't know if you would even need to try more challenging formats for a simple Direct Sales Blog.

Thanks for your kind words! Always appreciated!

So, What Did You Think of "The Secret"? - Blog Entry

20 Feb 2007 09:13 PM

Thanks for your feedback. I really wasn't impressed with what I learned about it on Oprah. (you are right...that's the only place I'd heard about it). I will take the time to take a look sometime. I just didn't think it lived up to all of the "hype".

I will take a look sometime and will write another post about it! =) Again...thanks.
