Refusing Vaccines: Do Parents have the Right?

Ann Lewis, ARNP Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Parents absolutely have the right to refuse vaccines and have the right to refuse any medical treatment for their child. There are, however, consequences for these decisions. Refusing vaccinates will limit your child in attending preschool and public school. It is public health law that children be immunized before they attend school.
