I have a 13 yr old daughter and an 8 yr old son who are the joys of my life. I work full time and juggle working, finances (I receive no child support) and raising my children on my own. Regardless of any trials and tribulations I may go through as a single mother, I find it to be so very rewarding. I love motherhood and everything it involves (even with raising a teenager! lol)I started a Single Moms Support Group last year on Yahoo (singlemomsnyc). We have a support group meeting, a Moms Night Out Family Dinner and a Moms Only Dinner each month in the NYC area. We also have a very active message board and weekly group Yahoo Chats, so that all of our members (even those who do not live in NY) can participate, get advice and get to know each other. It is so helpful and important for us, as single moms to know that we are never alone. |
