Singsforhim's commentsComments On: Everything Articles Blogs Journals Photos created by: EveryoneSingsforhim Modeling Mentors07 Nov 2008 09:40 PM Interesting, I'm single and serving the Lord..One of the most fulfilling things for me to do is mentor boys who don't have a father or just need some time spent with them..God led me in 1999 after restoring me, to use my outdoor skills to make a difference in the life of young people...Not having a father of my own has also been a source of motivation because the Lord has more than made up for it with 2 Pastors who spent a lot of time with me and went above the call of duty. In the beginning I was going to try to guide as an occupation but the Lord seemed to indicate that I would guide but not for profit or gain. I would use the outdoors as a platform to lead them or influence them to Christ.. My mission statement is " clean Recreation, enhancing Relationships, leading to Redemption".. God has used it to be a blessing to me as much as the boys I work with...Hopefully, should I ever get married, I would love to include boys and girls the same but until the Lord sends someone to work with them, I am limited to boys alone. Mentors can definitely make a difference and a great ministry for those opting not to be married or have children of their own.. Dispensations of the Bible07 Nov 2008 09:23 PM Hi MJ, I was surfing for info on this topic and found your entry very helpful...Actually I am preparing for a message this Sunday on when the last days began and wanted to use the dispensation charts to set the stage for this period called the last days or last time..My text will be found in Hebrews 1:1-2. Other references are Acts 2.17, 2 Ti 3, and 2 Peter 3.3. I will focus mainly on the characteristics of it...mainly apostasy, and deception.. Great info! Thanks! |
