Bio

From an early age, Sandra has been passionate about the outdoors, camping, and travel. She has rafted wild waters, scuba dived with sharks, hot air ballooned, and spent a wonderful day swimming with dolphins. She is also a 3rd degree black belt, and is a karate "sensei" or teacher. Sandra ran a children's summer camp for seven years In the Poconos, Pennsylvania, where she developed curriculum, games, and fun outdoor experiences for children. She has been trained in survival techniques (disaster, urban, and wilderness) and in nature awareness.

Raised in New Mexico, Texas, and California, she attended college at Pepperdine, UC Riverside, and the University of Bordeaux, France. She graduated with a B.A. in English with minors in creative writing and French. First published at the age of 17, Sandra has written for national magazines such as Parents' and Black Belt Magazine. She has also written a lot of corporate material including brochures, training programs, and press releases. Today her passion is blogging.

Sandra has traveled all over the US, England, France, Italy, Switzerland, Belgium, Holland, Germany, Greece, and the Caribbean. She has camped extensively in all weather conditions in places such as Sequoia (both summer and winter), Yosemite, Death Valley, on the beach, in the woods, in the high desert, beside rivers, and in many isolated spots in New Jersey and California. All together, she says it comes to a total of about 2 1/2 years of camping, from overnighters to a couple of six-month stays.

Sandra currently resides in Bakersfield, California.
