The Garlic Press: Since When? - Blog Entry

21 Sep 2006 02:20 PM

I use garlic in as much of my cooking as possible -- which accounts for my low cholesterol and frequent time spent brushing my teeth. I think I need a new garlic press. The one I have does not have that extra built-in device to clear out the garlic. Thanks for bringing that to my attention!

Happy Ending to the Newborn Baby Kidnapping - Blog Entry

Having a miscarriage can be devastating, but whatever could possess one woman to take another woman's baby is beyond me. Thank goodness things turned out well for the Ochsenbine family.

The Raccoon Ate My Homework - Blog Entry

Actually, this story is really funny. When I was in fifth grade, we were doing a science project -- you know, the one where you grow a plant with a wet paper towel and a plastic cup? Well, one Saturday morning, I woke to find our cat on the kitchen counter -- eating the bean plant!! My parents had to write my teacher a note and everything -- it was really funny. But my teacher took it well.

Brad Pitt vs. Diaper Rash - Blog Entry

That is so funny, Michele! I was thinking when I read his comment about the diaper rash, "Gee, have they ever tried Butt Paste? I'm sure they can afford it!" We LOVE it! Our pediatrician recommended it when our daughter was getting them frequently and we have not used anything else since.

When was the last time you checked Blockbuster Online? I noticed when we first signed up that the selection wasn't that great. It has expanded within the past two months, though. But hey, if you're happy with the service that you get from Netflix, that's all that matters. :-)

Does your man have the "Stupid Gene?" - Blog Entry

My sister and I were having this discussion yesterday. I don't know if women are absolutely smarter than men, but most of the women I know at least have more common sense than their men.

Swimmers Target Stingrays To Avenge Steve Irwin's Death - Blog Entry

I don't believe some people. You know, I live near the Virginia Aquarium and Marine Science Center and they actually have an exhibit with stingrays. You can pet them and you wouldn't believe how much they love it. Granted, these rays have been born and bred in captivity and de-barbed, but it is amazing how friendly they are when in that environment. I bet if people visited this exhibit that they would change their minds. Oh, and I'm rolling my eyes along with Valorie. ;-)

Watching TV With Your Children - Blog Entry

Yes, parents are ultimately responsible for what their children watch. However, sometimes the companies do need to think about their target audiences. I mean, if it's Disney, as a parent you generally think that it will be okay for a child of almost any age to watch. And then you can think about a movie like "Snow White" where there are MANY scary parts. Even my nephew does not like to watch "The Lion King" because he thinks that Scar is too scary. In any case, it is important that we as parents make sure that we get the right message to our children.

Let's Pretend: How Do You Teach Your Toddler to Pretend? - Blog Entry

My daughter really takes her cues from us. She has a play cell phone and she will pick it up and say, "Hello? Yes? Okay, bye-bye!"
