Stability in Special Education Programs is Important

Special Education programs are designed to help students who have special needs with their education. One thing that really helps is if the Special Education program, itself, is as stable as possible. In New Jersey, lawmakers are trying to pass a bill that would require Special Education programs to have more stability than they do right now. Right now, there are a whole lot of people who are unemployed. A bunch of them are teachers who were laid off in the past couple of years. Learning Disabilities and Left-Handedness

What hand does your child write with? Researchers have started to recognize the connections between brain development, left-handedness, and learning disabilities. It appears that the risk of developing learning disabilities, or mood disorders, has something to do with the way a person’s brain is wired. It has been estimated that around 10% of people are left-handed, and another 1% of the population is mixed-handed, (meaning that this group of people do not have a dominant hand). Charter Schools Failing to Help Special Needs Students

If your child’s public school is unable to provide for his or her special needs, then that school generally has to pay to have your child attend a private, or charter, school that can adequately provide for the child’s needs. Unfortunately, many charter schools are basically “dropping the ball” when it comes to helping students with special needs.
