I think we when both saw what it was doing to the children, we made a conscious effort to keep things civil. We had our disagreements over the years but today, we are truly best of friends. He took me to lunch recently for my birthday and his wife is incredible. It didn't just happen, it involved us both agreeing that raising our children together while apart was the only way to handle things. We went to every ballgame, every dance recital, every volleyball game, and ever parent/teacher conference together. At first, we only said "Hi"....but over the years, we started sitting closer, actually talking. As mentioned, it wasn't always easy but the bottom line is loving the children more than you hate the ex....PLEASE keep me posted on how you're doing and if you ever want to chat...just let me know.
