Thanks for your kind thoughts. She's a pretty interesting woman for sure! Years ago I thought of tape recording her and never did. Now I'm kicking myself; I'm afraid it may be too late. :(

Yeah, it is all about changing habits, for good! I seem to be able to change them for a short period of time but I need to make the transition to a permanent change!

Don't you just wish there was this magic book or story or something we could share with our kids and it would just teach them to be good? Because isn't that what we really want - for our children to be good people? Somehow just telling them over and over to be kind to others doesn't cut it, we have to show them (over and over and over again...).

Oh, you'd think so -- that being Jewish would be off limits for conversion, but sadly enough, not so. I used to get so incredibly angry about that but as my (very patient and understanding) husband would explain, they are just trying to do what they think is best. So now I (try) to just smile and thank them for their concern. And then quickly run away!
