I took a "babymoon" to Chicago in my late second trimester. But I still refer to a babymoon as the period directly following birth :D

I, as well as everyone I know, have always considered "babymoon" to mean exactly what you described it as Pattie ;)

Ask a Baby Blogger: My Mother-In-Law and My Husband Are Against Co-Sleeping - Blog Entry

17 Feb 2007 10:43 AM

Good points! My guy wasn't too keen on the idea at first. He assumed he would elbow the baby, so we bought an arm' reach co-sleeper. Maybe it was because I have prior parenting experience that he always seems to trust my judgement. He readily agreed to a homebirth as well, for instance :) After a couple of weeks, baby completely shared the bed with us and we all get to sleep ALL night without ever leaving the bed! The co-sleeper helped to introduce the concept. My parents or parents-in-laws have never commented. They know better LOL

My Experience with Amniocentesis - Blog Entry

My first came up on the Down's side of the test as well, but I chose to forgo further tests. I refused all testing the second time, as I wrote about in http://pregnancy.families.com/blog/lets-talk-about-early-prenatal-testing. I know I've mentioned that I see a coincidental link between this and giftedness to you, Valorie, before - I have even personally know of several other woman having these same things in common as well!

Let's Talk About The Four-Minute Delivery! - Blog Entry

17 Feb 2007 09:54 AM

In related news: "Newborn Ends Up in Mother's Pant Leg" in CONNELLSVILLE, Pa. (Feb. 16) - A woman gave birth to a boy outside a western Pennsylvania hospital - a delivery that happened so quickly that the newborn wound up in his mother's sweatpants.

"It happened so fast," Rebecca Johnson, 24, told the Daily Courier in Connellsville. "I didn't know what happened until he was in my pant leg."

Johnson had just gotten out of the car at Highlands Hospital in Connellsville and was still in the parking lot when her 5-pound, 15-ounce son, Mason Matthew Parkinson, arrived Wednesday.

An emergency room physician cut the umbilical cord in the parking lot, and doctors attended to Johnson until she could be taken to Uniontown Hospital, which has a maternity unit.

Mason, Johnson's fourth child, was doing well.

Ask a Baby Blogger: Why Can't You Breastfeed a Baby on a Schedule? - Blog Entry

15 Feb 2007 04:04 PM

IME, babies create their own schedules and I have nothing to do with it. That's the beauty of BFing anyway - it's simple and easy. I can tell when my baby is hungry as opposed to XYZ, so there's no gueeswork involved anyway. I really can't tell how a schedule is worth the effort to implement, when babies tend to create their own?

Babies in the News: Cocaine Laced Breastmilk - Blog Entry

I totally just addressed a similar issue in Lets Talk About Teenage Pregnancy - Breaking Through Stereotypes. I attempted to touch on two things that you've mentioned here: The fact that selflessess is mandatory in parenting, and also that mothers do NOT have ample support systems to fall back on in our society, nor are we encouraged enough to use those that exist. That results in things like this happening. It's so very dissappointing :(
